The study also found that red dates contain calming and soothing ingredients, and pregnant women often suffer from insomnia, irritability and other symptoms, so red dates are suitable for conditioning.

Eggs have the effects of nourishing yin, moistening dryness, nourishing blood and calming the fetus. "Compendium of Materia Medica" says that egg yolk can "replenish blood, treat diarrhea, and various diseases during pregnancy and childbirth", which is similar to the effect of donkey-hide gelatin. As for egg white, it is believed to have the effect of replenishing qi, not only the mother's qi, but also the fetus' qi. Once the fetus is fully invigorated, it will naturally be able to keep the fetus safe and protected.

Modern nutrition emphasizes that pregnant women should supplement high-quality protein during pregnancy, and eggs happen to be a source of high-quality protein. There is modern scientific basis for eating more eggs to protect the fetus.

In addition, the older generation often warns pregnant women to avoid overwork and not lift heavy objects, and especially to avoid nailing things around the house or moving the head of the bed, for fear of disturbing the fetus and causing miscarriage or premature birth. These statements may seem a bit superstitious, but they do make sense.

Climbing up and down, nailing things or lifting heavy objects at home can easily lead to falls and injuries, causing uterine contractions and premature birth. Therefore, during pregnancy, the amount of activity should be appropriate, and attention should be paid to the possibility of premature birth. Once abnormal phenomena such as fetal movement disorder occur, seek medical attention in time and prescribe the right medicine.
